Oxygen Therapy

  • A patient is discharged from hospital after COPD exacerbation episode.
  • Pulmonologist prescribes oxygen therapy device and regular daily SpO2 measurement.
  • Hospital requires that medical data is integrated within its own EHR system.

Solution setup:

  • Hospital (or its technology integrator) selects:
  • a wireless SpO2 sensor
  • Gate2Care as the home healthcare gateway device
  • a service provider for the integration within the EHR system
  • Altaneos prepares the integration process:
  • Integration of selected wireless sensor within Gate2Care.
  • Integration of hospital's specific EHR interface within Gate2Care.

Deployment phase:

  • Patient get wireless SpO2 sensor, IFU and a Gate2Care device when exiting the hospital.
  • Sensor and Gateway are paired with patient's EHR identification for further data processing.
  • Patient just plug Gate2Care anywhere at home, check the LED is green and forget it.

Usage phase:

  • On a regular basis as required by the Pulmonologist, Patient just place the sensor on its finger tip for a few seconds and the measurement is immediately sent by Gate2Care to the hospital EHR system using LTE/4G network.
  • The Pulmonologist gets the oxygen saturation trends for all of its patients whenever wanted using the HCP Front End provided by EHR system.
  • If provided by EHR system, patient can follow its data using the Patient Front End.
